This Pessoa bit has a flattened tongue passage, providing optimum space for your horse's tongue.

This bit is ideal for playful horses, as some try to slide their tongue over it. The tongue arch will effectively prevent this.

This bit is also ideal for horses that can't tolerate conventional bits because of the pressure exerted on the tongue, and who react by shaking their head.

The Pessoa effectively combines three effects:

  • lateral framing
  • a leverage effect
  • a lifting effect in a single bit

With this type of bit, you can choose the intensity of the effect by attaching the reins to the 3 rings.

If you attach your reins to the lower ring, you'll get a short leverage effect on the bit.

The Pessoa is often used to test the horse's reaction to leverage.

Resin bits are not guaranteed against biting, even after their first use.
